How do I choose the right needle size?

What is the best size needle for my project?

Larger needles are stronger and do create a larger hole in the project. Machines with needle threaders recommend that a needle no smaller than a 75/11 be used when using the needle threader. It is important to note that the size of the needle is not nearly as important as the style of needle.
