Do you have any unfinished projects? Come join us for our Open Sew Day in the Houston  store! Open Sew is every Wednesday of the month from 10:30AM – 5:00PM, excluding days when there are scheduled classes. Our Open Sew Day is a great way to get together with a group of people who share your enthusiasm! Enjoy your time and be inspired! Come for a few hours or stay all day and play!

The best part is that Open Sew Day is only $5 per day! Seating is limited so make sure you register to reserve your seat today!

What To Bring:

  • Your sewing machine
  • Your unfished projects and supplies
  • Pack a lunch, snacks, and beverage (Cups must have a screw on lid)

Dull scissors and blades no more! Bring your scissors, pinking shears, and rotary blades and get them sharpened by The Scissor Guy! Put your items in a bag with your name on it and drop it off it off at the store. Please make sure you drop off your items the day before to ensure they get sharpened. Step into the world of bespoke footwear with this hands-on DIY sneaker assembly class! Using the Patchwork Kicks system, students will learn how to transform their favorite fabrics into a pair of fully functional, custom-designed sneakers. This course covers the end-to-end process of constructing a sneaker in either a midtop or a hightop style.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Use templates to trace and cut fabrics accurately
  • Bond fabrics with foam interfacing to create structure
  • Apply bias binding to curved edges for a clean finish
  • Install metal eyelets using a punch and hammer
  • Hand sew components together using an awl and waxed thread

During class, you’ll learn hands-on techniques including quilting with Soft and Stable, sewing with mesh, installing zippers, and binding. By the end, you’ll have a beautifully finished tote and new sewing skills to use in future projects.
