This Freshman Year of Tucker University offers 12 technique courses for using Deb Tucker’s Studio 180 Design tools to develop exact precision and incredible designs. Students practice how to use a new tool each month and apply it to a plethora of patterns and designs. Each week is supported by a Design Sheet and Technique Sheets for students to realize the many options they can create using their Studio 180 Design tools. Students will be able to create a project of their choosing as they develop and design their stunning units. Don’t worry, no grades are given, only fun and inspiration.

Kathy Tucker is a Studio 180 Design and Laura Heine Certified Instructor. She is also a Certified Longarm Quilter. As a long-time educator with children and in higher education, she specializes in classes that are inspiring and educational while meeting the needs of each individual learner and skill level. With over 35 years in the art of quilting making, her classes provide beginner to advanced students with new and exciting skills in a positive and supportive atmosphere.
Participants will start gaining knowledge that they have been yearning to develop quilt designs with the Electric Quilt (EQ8) software. Students with earlier versions will be guided how they are able to upgrade to Version 8. We will start with Chapter One of the Lessons for Beginners, Lessons 1 and 2. Students must pre-order the software from Sewing and Vacuum Warehouse before the class and download it to their laptop plus preorder the book for class!

The Lotus Flower is a great introduction to the world of Judy Niemeyer/Quiltworx paper piecing techniques. A small, 40” x 40” quilt top, each paper only has two seams. Floating points, curved piecing, and template layout sheets will all be introduced by Lotus Flower. Jan Mathews, certified Judy Niemeyer instructor, will lead you through the process. Join her for a hands-on fun time learning how to create the Lotus Flower!
